Detection of a murder case registered in Mancheswar PS in connection of Holi murder

BHUBANESWAR:   Case Reference: 0132 U/s 103(1) BNS on Date: 15-03-2025. Place of occurrence: Near Punjab National Bank, Mancheswar Industrial Area. Victim details: Ayusman Pati (30), S/o Atmaram Pati, Address: Village Sameigadia, PS: Mancheswar.

 Details of arrested persons:

1. Milu @ Tanmay Behera (28), S/o Benudhar Behera, Address: Begunia,

District: Puri.

2. Lulu @ Padmanav Behera (35), S/o Benudhar Behera, Address: Begunia,

District: Puri.

3. Bulu @ Prashant Behera (40), S/o Benudhar Behera, Address: Begunia,

District: Puri.

4. Samir Kumar Swain (25), S/o Sanyasi Kumar Swain, Address: Fuleswar

Vihar, Patrapada, PS-Bharatpur, District: Khordha.

 Incident details: On date 15.03.2025, there was minor altercation of words between the accused Tanmay and deceased Ayushman. This led to hot argument and quarrel between them. The victim got stabbing injury by the accused near Mancheswar Industrial Estate, in front of Punjab National Bank by the accused namely Milu @Tanmay Behera. After a call was received by 112 number, an ambulance had taken the victim to the hospital. At 2.11 pm, on 15.03.2025, the victim was received dead at Capital Hospital.

 Action taken:

Aforementioned 4 persons have been apprehended. Forwarding sections: Tanmay Behera shall be forwarded to the honourable court for murder u/s 103(1) BNS. Rest 3 arrested persons shall be forwarded for harbouring the accused person U/s 103(1)/249(a)/3(5) BNS. Two are brothers of the accused Tanmay namely, Lulu @Padmanav Behera & Bulu @Prashant Behera) and third arrested person is a driver of Lulu namely Samir Kumar Swain. They helped him in providing shelter to him and assisting him in escaping from arrest.

Details about the arrest of Tanmay Behera: He has been apprehended from Pipili PS area with the help of Pipili PS Police. ⁠Before apprehension by police, police received intelligence that he has taken dimiri phal (natural poison) due to fear of arrest. ⁠He was under tracking. Police team was at about 10 kms away from the accused. Immediately, Bhubaneswar police team with Pipili Police (Puri) rushed to the location and rescued him. ⁠Then, he was taken to CHC, Mangalpur by police. He received treatment there and now, he has been discharged.
