KENDRAPARA/BHUBANESWAR: Normal life in Kendrapara town on Tuesday hit in view of a bandh call given by Medical Banchao Kriyanusthan Committee demanding for a City Hospital.
Members of the associations blocked roads at various places in Kendrapara town this morning disrupting vehicular movement. As per reports, the agitators are demanding setting up of City Hospital following relocation of district headquarters hospital.
Movement of vehicles on Cuttack-Chandbali main road was severely affected due to the bandh. All departments of the District Headquarters Hospital barring Gynaecology and Blood Bank were on January 9 shifted from the old building at Khadianga to new building at Samagudia.
Earlier, Kendrapara BJP had also submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on this issue. “ଦୀର୍ଘ 150 ବର୍ଷ ସର୍ବପୁରାତନ କେନ୍ଦ୍ରାପଡ଼ା ପୌରସଂସ୍ଥା ଓ ତତ ସଂଲଗ୍ନ କେନ୍ଦ୍ରାପଡ଼ା ବ୍ଲକର ପ୍ରାୟ 10-12ଟି ଗ୍ରାମପଂଚାୟତର ପାଖାପାଖି ଏକ ଲକ୍ଷ ଲୋକ ସହଜ ଓ ନିକଟରେ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସେବା ପାଇଁ ପୌର ସଂସ୍ଥାର ମଧ୍ୟବର୍ତ୍ତୀସ୍ଥଳ ଖଡ଼ିଅଙ୍ଗଠାରେ ଥିବା ଜିଲ୍ଲା ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଚିକିତ୍ସାଳୟ ଉପରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରି ଆସୁଛନ୍ତି l ଚିକିତ୍ସାଳୟ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତର ହେବା ଫଳରେ ପୌରାଞ୍ଚଳର ଲୋକମାନେ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ନାହିଁ ନ ଥିବା ଅସୁବିଧାରେ ସମ୍ମୁଖୀନ ହେବେ l ଏଣୁ ଚିକିତ୍ସାଳୟ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଉଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ ସେହି ଭିତ୍ତିଭୂମିରେ ପୌରାଞ୍ଚଳର ଜନସାଧାରଣଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସେବା ଯୋଗାଇବା ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟରେ “ସିଟି ହସ୍ପିଟାଲ ” ନାମରେ ଘୋଷଣା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଦୃଢ଼ ଦାବୀ କରିଥିଲେ l, BJP had said in its memorandum.
