BHUBANESWAR: The deep depression over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand at 0830 hrs IST of 16 September, about 40 km southeast of Purulia (West Bengal), 50 km southwest of Bankura (West Bengal), 60 km east-northeast of Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) and 140 km east of Ranchi (Jharkhand).Likely to move across Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand and weaken into a depression during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it will continue to move across Jharkhand and North Chhattisgarh during subsequent 24 hours.
Monsoon surge expected in Central and southern India from September 25 to October 5. A series of LPS will likely bring heavy rain to Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, southern MP, and parts of Gujarat. Additionally, recurving LPS may occasionally extend rainfall to northern areas.
