Dead Elephant’s Body organs sent to Centre for Wildlife Studies-OUAT

BHUBANESWAR: On Saturday, the post mortem of the male elephant found in injured condition two days ago inside the Balikiary RF of Barsingha beat of Narsinghpur West Range which died during the treatment yesterday was carried out by BVO Narsinghpur, VAS Satkosia Wildlife Division, Team from Nandankanan in presence of Sri. Manoj Nair, CCF WL, Sri. Yogajayanand, RCCF, Angul, DFO Athgarh, ACF Athgarh and other Range staff.

To ascertain the cause of death two  experts from State Foressic Science Laboratory were also present. During the postmortem one pallet was also recovered from the carcass. The samples from different body organs of the elephant have been collected which will be sent to Centre for Wildlife Studies, OUAT, Bhubaneshwar for further analysis. Investigation has been launched in to the case to arrest the culprits.
