BHUBANESWAR: The crorepati Section officer of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) Bibhuti Bhusan Ray has been on run after the Vigilance Department of State Police raided the office and on charges of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Several expensive buildings and flats owned by Ray and located at GGP Colony and Jharpada areas of the State Capital were also under scanner.
Sources said separate teams of the anti-graft wing carried out the search drive at his chamber in BDA office, a house and a three-storey building in GGP Colony, another three-storey building in Jharpada area here. The officials also searched his ancestral house at his native village Biribati in Jagatsinghpur.
However, the exact amount of disproportionate assets that the Government official has possessed will be ascertained after completion of the simultaneous raid.Sources said, Ray earned huge money from several builders and construction firms and invested in many places.
