BHUBANESWAR: Stepping up its efforts to set up a biggest COVID Hospital in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and 5T Secretary VK Pandian on Saturday reviewed the preparedness at the special COVID Hospital which is taking shape at KIMS Hospital, a sisiter concern of KIIT deemed to be University here in Bhubaneswar.State Health and Family Welfare Secretary Nikunja Dhal and DMET CBK Mohanty also accompanied them.
The Senior officials of the state government reviewed the progress of the Odisha COVID hospital having a strength of 500 beds. As per reports, the facility will be operational in a fortnight . KIMS Dr B P Panigarahi and Dr Subrat Acharya were present on the occasion.
The State Government had signed two tripartite agreements with SUM and KIIMS Medical Colleges to set up 1000 bedded state level Hospitals in Bhubaneswar for treatment of COVID-19 patients. These hospitals will be the state facility for COVID-19 treatment. Both the new facilities will be functional in a fortnight.
The first MoU signed by the Government of Odisha represented by Health Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal, MD of OMC Vineel Krishna and KIIMS Management to set up a 450 bedded hospital. The second MoU was signed by Health Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal, SS Panda of MCL and SUM Hospital Management to set up a 500 bedded hospital plus ICU facilities.
