BHUBANESWAR: Today i.e. on 08.01.2026 Hon’ble Court of 2nd Additional District Judge cum Special Judge, Bhubaneswar in Khordha convicted one drug peddler namely PadmalabhaBehera S/o Benudhar Behera, At.-Begunia, P.S-Gop, Dist.-Puri U/s 274/275/276 IPCr/w. Sec. 2 of Odisha Act 3 of 1999 in Bharatpur PS Case No. 183/2022. Basing onthe evidence Hon’ble Court sentenced the accused person to undergo RI for life & to pay fine of Fifty Thousand Rupees and in default of payment of fine RI for
01 years.
In this case on 13.05.2022 early morning while the accused person was transporting of prohibited manufactured drugs in a Mahindra Supro Vehicle, he was apprehended by STF team near Baramunda Bus-Stand, Bhubaneswar. During search, 1280 numbers of Eskuf cough syrup having Codeine phosphate & Chlorpheniramine maleate and other incriminating materials were recovered & seized from his possession.
The accused person could not produce any document or authority for possession of such prohibited manufactured drugs, for which he has been detained and handed over to Bharatpur PS for necessary legal action.
On the report of Special Task Force, Bhubaneswar a case was registered at Bharatpur Police Station, BBSR UPD vide Case No. 183/2022 U/s 274/275/276 IPC r/w. Sec. 2 of Odisha Act 3 of 1999 and investigated into. After successful investigation charge sheet was submitted against the accused person U/s 274/275/276 IPC r/w. Sec. 2 of Odisha Act 3 of 1999.
During trial the prosecution has examined 07 Nos. of witnesses and exhibited 07
