BHUBANESWAR: AIIMS –Bhubaneswar has declared alertness to manage the tragic train accident. Executive Director Dr Ashutosh Biswas and Medical Superintend Dr Dilip Kumar Parida have took stock of the situation and asked all to manage the situation.
A team of 11 members comprising of Doctors, Resident Doctors, Nurses have reached at SCB Medical college, Cuttack.
Similarly another team of 8 members consisting of Docs, Nurses and Residents have also despatched to Balasore for rescue operation.
“Two teams of doctors from @AIIMSBhubaneswr have been dispatched for Balasore & Cuttack to assist in relief operations at the rail accident site in Odisha.We are providing all required help & medical assistance to the victims of the tragic train accident to save precious lives,” Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare; Chemicals and Fertilizers, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said.
‘Just spoke to Director, AIIMS @AIIMSBhubaneswr & MS. 4 OTs & 85 beds have been made ready for meeting any emergency arising out of the #train_accident . So far no patients have come. As GB member, requested them to continue to be in readiness,” BJD Rajya Sabha MP Dr Amar Patnaik said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely visit to Odisha on Saturday. First, he will visit the site of the accident in Balasore and then he will visit the hospital in Cuttack.
PM Modi will visit the accident site, where Chennai-bound Coromandel Express collided with Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, causing death of 238 people and injuring more than 700.
