‘Contractual Appointment’ Turns ‘Initial Appointees’ in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, known for enigma called style of functioning, on Monday, brought smile in the face of  contractual Group-B, C and D employees after the State Cabinet decided to accord contractual employees as  ‘Initial Appointees’ and their appointments would be made permanent after 6 years.

The employees will also receive medical reimbursement benefits like the permanent employees.  Rs 250 Crore will be spent by the State Government annually for it.

Odisha Cabinet on Monday approved the restructuring of the Odisha Excise Service Cadre in different ranks at various levels.The state Cabinet has also approved the introduction of direct recruitment at the stage of Deputy Superintendent of Excise, (Group-B) to the extent of 40 percent of the sanctioned strength.
