BHUBANE SWAR: Hundreds of Congress party workers supporting MLA Mohammed Moquim and Ex MLA Chiranjib Biswal barged into Congress Bhawan to meet OPCC President Sarat Pattanayak demanding immediate revocation of suspension order against two leaders.
Opposing suspension of Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim and former working president Chiranjib Biswal, the party workers termed the move by OPCC president as ‘undemocratic’.
As they failed to discuss the matter with the party chief, they staged demonstration at Master Canteen against the suspension. The protestors threatened to intensify agitation in upcoming days if the party did not issue withdrawal order of their suspension.
Both MLA Mohammed Moquim and Ex MLA Chiranjib Biswal were suspended from Congress on July 15 after the Disciplinary Action Committee of the All India Congress Committee took the decision following both the leaders failed to give satisfactory reply on the allegation of anti-party activities. It said that Odisha PCC President Sarat Pattanayak had complained against Moquim and Chiranjib.
