BHUBANESWAR:The two complaints filed in the name of Nuapada Congress candidate Shri Ghaziram Majhi at Nuapada police station have not been mentioned in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission for the by-election.

In the last 2024 general elections, Shri Majhi had mentioned two complaints 146/2022 and 10/2018 to the Election Commission, which are currently pending in the Honorable SDJM Court. But in the affidavit submitted for the current by-election, Congress candidate Shri Majhi has deliberately not mentioned the said two cases. This is a cognizable offence under Section 125-‘A’ of the Representation of the People Act-1951. Therefore, the BJP has demanded from the State Election Commission that his nomination paper should be rejected with strict punishment as per the law.

Giving information in this regard, State Vice President Dr. Yatin Mohanty said that; How can the leaders of the Congress party, which does not have internal democracy, understand the value of the Constitution? Today’s Congress party has completely deviated from its original ideology. The common people no longer accept the ideology and style of work of the Congress party.
The Congress party has become a haven for criminals and anti-social elements. The leaders of the Congress party do not hesitate to hide the anti-social activities they have done in their public life. A glaring example of which has been seen once again in the Nuapada by-election. In the current Nuapada by-election, the Congress party candidate Shri Ghaziram Majhi has hidden his criminal activities in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission. Dr. Mahanty said that this is a heinous crime and unforgivable.
The delegation included State Spokesperson Shri Dilip Mallick, State Media Coordinator Shri Sujit Das, State Legal Cell Coordinator Shri Jayant Jena and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
