BHADRAK/BHUBANESWAR: Today on 26.10.2024 night,at 8.30P.M , after getting information from local people, a daring rescue operation was conducted in Village Tala Gopabindha, saving 24 individuals mostly children,women,senior citizens and sick persons were stranded due to rising waters from the swollen Salandi river.
The swift collaborative efforts of Dr. Satyajit Naik, IPS,DIG, Eastern Range, Balasore, SP Bhadrak, Sandeep Madkar and ODRAF ensured the safe evacuation of all individuals to the Aishanyachandi High School cyclone shelter.
This successful operation showcases Odisha’s effective disaster management, facilitated by timely warnings from the India Meteorological Department. The state’s preparedness and response to natural disasters have once again saved lives and mitigated the impact of the swollen Salandi river.
