Cold wave to continue for more days in Odisha, says IMD

BHUBANESWAR: The Indian Meteorological Department on Monday predicated that cold wave condition will continue to prevail in most parts of Odisha in next few days.  As predicted earlier by the Meteorological centre here, the minimum temperature witnessed a gradual fall by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state.

While Sonepur recorded the lowest temperature of 7.5 degrees Celcius, Angul followed with 9 degrees Celcius.Bhawanipatna recorded 10 degrees Celcius and Koraput recorded 11.2 degrees Celcius.

On the other hand, Silver City Cuttack recorded 12.4 degrees Celcius and state Capital Bhubaneswar recorded 15.3 degrees Celcius. People in Odisha experienced slight respite from the biting cold as minimum temperature across the state remained above 10 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

Besides this, the IMD also redicted light rainfall in at least five Odisha districts including, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Nuapada from January 8.
