RANCHI/BHUBANESWAR: NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters, Ranchi in Jharkhand, celebrated 45th Raising Day of the company today. It was 7th Nov 1975 that NTPC’s first plant in Singrauli power station was established with installed capacity of 200 MW. NTPC completed 45 years of journey of excellence in the field of power generation.
On the occasion , Sariputta Mishra ,Head of Mining ,Coal Mining Headquarters unfurled NTPC flag. Addressing the gathering, Shri Mishra spoke on operational highlights of the company .NTPC has installed capacity of 62,910 MW, plans to become a 130 GW company by 2032 accelerating power developments in India.
“NTPC growth story is commendable and future is bright for the company as the growth of energy is the demand of the era.The company plans to become an integrated company having entire value chains of the power generation business said Shri Mishra”.He said “Coal is an important source of energy for its thermal based stations even thrust was on Renewable Energy and it has completed four years into coal mining production with its captive coal mining projects located in states of Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.”
“NTPC Coal Mining division has plans of 50-100 million coal production and registered growth of 48% growth so far. Pakri Barwadih has been witnessing agitation due to some local issues, State Government and Company officials are working together on the issues to commence mining operation soon.Dulanga mines have been a turning point in terms of performance among its coal projects. Talaipalli coal project is gearing up for a good show.He added the coal projects are backbone for its power plants , it has contributed in reducing cost of coal and generation cost,said Shri Mishra.
Head of Mining appreciated various contributions rendered by departments to meet the deadlines even during tough working conditions posed by COVID-19 pandemic and felicitated employees for their special contribution during Foundation Day Celebration.
