BHUBANESWAR: With heat wave closely marching, reviewing the status of water supply for summer season, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday underscored that ensuring quality drinking water to households is a priority for #Odisha Govt, especially during summer season and #Odisha is making huge investment on drinking water supply projects.
Chief Minister Patnaik said that 89 mega projects worth ₹ 17,000 Cr are under implementation in rural areas while more than ₹ 3800 Cr have been spent in last 3 years alone in urban areas. Odisha Govt is aiming at ensuring 100% piped water supply in rural areas by 2024 & all urban households by 2022.
CM Pataik said that the Summer season has arrived early & directed officials to remain better prepared to ensure proper water supply. CM asked all GPs & ULBs to give a certificate on 100% readiness and ensure a fool-proof grievance redressal system and tech-driven monitoring system. He advised officials to map areas where there are issues with water supply and ensure preventive steps immediately. CM also said that senior officials should closely monitor the adherence and ensure strict action against erring officials.
