BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday has felicitated Odisha’s track and field athlete Bapi Hansda with a cash award of Rs 25 lakh for winning gold in the 400m hurdles at the 18th National Youth Athletics Championship. With a time of 51.90 sec, Bapi is now ranked World No 1 in U-18 age category.
Congratulating the rising star of Odisha on his achievement, CM Patnaik lauded Bapi for his dedication, hard work & inspiring budding athletes. CM Patnaik also appreciated the coaches, staff for their contribution towards making athletics HPC emerge as a major hub in the country.
CM Patnaik also felicitated Odisha FC’s Diego Mauricio, who won Indian Super League 2022-23 Golden Boot Award, and congratulated him for his exemplary performance and contribution to the Odisha FC’s standing this season. CM wished Mauricio all the best for future.
Diego along with Odisha FC President Raj Atwal thanked CM Patnaik for supporting Odisha FC and creating holistic sports ecosystem for promotion of football. They appreciated sports infra particularly that has been training ground for teams and has played key role in their performance.
