CM Naveen keeps DGP Abhay Happy, 6 more Police Stations to come up in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: “We are deeply grateful to @Naveen_Odisha for sanction of six new Police Stations. This will significantly improve policing and delivery of service in such areas,” Odisha DGP tweeted @DGPOdisha soon after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved the establishment of 6 new police stations in various districts of the State by bifurcation of existing Police Stations.

The Chief Minister appreciated the hard work and dignified conduct with restrain put in by the Police in the last three months for creating awareness amongst people and enforcing lockdown.

The existing Police Stations which will be bifurcated creating six new police stations are Khandagiri Police Station, Bhubaneswar; Angul Town Police Station, Angul; Jhasuguda Town Police Station, Jharsuguda; Bhanjanagar Police Station, Ganjam; Bhadrak (Rural) Police Station, Bhadrak and Tihidi Police Station, Bhadrak.

In another tweet, DGP said ““We are deeply grateful to @Naveen_Odisha for sanction of 905 posts for 220 Police Stations Odisha. This will help in controlling crime and  improving service delivery to residents of Odisha,”.

Besides, Patnaik also approved rationalisation of 905 posts in Odisha police.The Chief Minister has approved the rationalisation for the strengthening of 220 police stations and six outposts in 21 police districts of the State. Patnaik had asked Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay to draw up an action plan to make more manpower available at police station level.
