KEONJHAR/BHUBANESWAR: On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi took a holy dip in the Baitarani river at Patana in Keonjhar district.
After arriving at Raisuan airstrip by a special aircraft, he took a holy dip in the Baitarani river at Anasuya Ghat in Patna, where elaborate arrangements were made to welcome the CM with traditional fanfare. He then offered prayers at Parameswar Temple.
Following a brief rest at the circuit house here, the CM would inaugurate a bridge in Jhumpura block. He will then visit his native village Raikala and return to Keonjhar for an overnight stay.
Majhi’s itinerary for the day also includes a visit to the Jyotirlinga and Maa Tarini temples. The Chief Minister is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar on January 17.
