BHUBANESWAR: The August Kranti Diwas of Quit India Movement was on Friday observed with patriotic fervour.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attended a special function held at Freedom Fighter’s Ground in the Capital City and announced that family members of eminent freedom fighters will be provided pension and identification of such families will be done soon. The schemes will be named as Kutumbha Pension Yojana.
Law Minister Prithivraj Harichadan, Higher Education, Sports and Youth Services Department Minister Suryabansi Suraj, BJP Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, Organisers Upendra Padhi and others attended and paid tributes to the martyrs by paying floral tributes.
CM Majhi also felicitated several eminent freedom fighters on this occasion.
