CM Lauds Team Kendrapara for Successful Rescue Operations in Mahanadi

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday morning in a tweet lauded the efforts of Kendrapara district administration and Police for successfully rescuing near about 40 passengers flowing away in heavy flood currents in Mahanadi Muhan.

As per reports, the passenger boat carrying about 40 people from Paradip in Jagatsinghpur was en route to Bahakuda in Kendrapada district when it washed away for around one kilometre from its designated route

“କେନ୍ଦ୍ରାପଡ଼ାର ମହାକାଳପଡ଼ାରେ ଭାସିଯାଇଥିବା ଯାତ୍ରୀବାହୀ ଡଙ୍ଗାରୁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ଉଦ୍ଧାର ପାଇଁ ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ ବାହିନୀ, ବିଡିଓ, ତହସିଲଦାର, ମହାକାଳପଡ଼ା ଆଇଆଇସି, ଜମ୍ବୁ ମେରାଇନ୍ ପୋଲିସ କର୍ମଚାରୀ, ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ବାସିନ୍ଦା ଓ ଲୋକ ପ୍ରତିନିଧିମାନେ କରିଥିବା ନିଷ୍ଠାପର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରଶଂସନୀୟ। ବହୁ ମୂଲ୍ୟବାନ ଜୀବନ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ କରିଥିବାରୁ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ମୋର ଶୁଭେଚ୍ଛା ଓ ସାଧୁବାଦ ଜଣାଉଛି।,” CM Patnaik said.

‘All passengers have been rescued and brought to the Kharinasi and Bahakud jetty points by a team of Fire officials, Jamboo Marine police and local boatsmen. All are safe now and have reached the landmass near the ghats” Kendrapara Collector said in a tweet.

“Jamboo Marine Police Station rescued 2 Children, 11 Women & 22 Men flowing away in heavy flood currents in Mahanadi Muhan. Led by IIC Paresh, ASI Pratap, ASI Ramakanta, Constable Upendra & ex-Service Men running our Fast Interceptor Boat, they ensured zero casualty. Well done,” Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi, ADGP, Railways & Coastal Security, said.
