BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday flagged off the State sponsored flight operation on Bhubaneswar-Rangeilunda route to further increase air connectivity between Bhubaneswar and other cities of Odisha.
The flight service will connect Berhampur with Bhubaneswar and accelerate economic activity. IndiaOne Air airline will operate the non-scheduled flight service using a 9-seater aircraft.
Earlier, Rangeilunda Airstrip was used only on handful occasions for flight operations during the arrival of dignitaries.The Rangeilunda airstrip has been included under Udaan and Rural Connectivity scheme of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The presence of attractive places and tourist destinations like Chilika Lake, Tampara Lake, Gopalpur Beach, Rushikulya River, Tara Tarini Temple etc. will attract many tourists after air connectivity at Rangeilunda. Senior Doctors, Professors of MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur University, IREL, IISER and businessmen from the city will fly out and in frequently.
