BHUBANESWAR: While coming down heavily on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for not attending the winter session of State Assembly physically, the BJP on Wednesday alleged that the BJD Supremo always remain fit to attend meetings of BSKY Smart Health Cards distribution but the same person, became unfit when he has to attend House session, which will debate on several important issues.
The BJP also urged Speaker to use his power and also urged Members to boycott the session citing absence of House leader and Chief Minister Patnaik. In tweet, just few hours after the Assembly session starts, with Congress Members blocking one of the doors of the House to oppose entry of erring Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra, BJP State general secretary, Prithiviraj Harichandan said, “Isn’t it quite unfortunate that Leader of Odisha Legislative Assembly Naveen Patnaik is avoiding to attend Assembly Session although he is capable of attending BSKY meetings in other Districts .Speaker should exercise his powers otherwise MLAs with self-respect should boycott also,”.

The winter session of the Odisha Assembly commenced today and will continue till December 31. The session will have a total of 26 working days including five private members days.Official business will be transacted from December 2 to 6. Private members’ business (bills and resolutions) will be tabled on December 3.
Discussion on demand for grants for the first supplementary statement of expenditure for 2021-22 will be held from December 7, followed by discussion and approval of the Appropriation Bill.
