BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday announced various benfits for Block Grant Employees Working in Granted Private Higher Education Institutions:
CM Patnaik announced that various service facilities for the employees working in various aided private higher educational institutes of the state under block grant grant.
According to the announcement, these block grant employees will get fifteen days of annual leave.
Also, female block grant employees will get 180 days maternity leave till birth of two live children. After 16 years from the date of receipt of block grant, the grantee teacher will be given a promotion scale benefit at the higher pay scale level.
Similarly, the Chief Minister has increased the amount of ex-gratia (Ex-Gratia) in case of death or permanent disability in case of death or permanent disability for block grant employees under various block grant grants from Rs.2 lakh to Rs.5 lakh and from Rs.1.50 lakh to Rs.3.50 lakh respectively.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet has also decided to pay Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh to block grant employees working in private aided higher education institutions at the time of retirement at the age of 60 years for teaching and non-teaching staff respectively.
During the district visit of 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian, there were proposals in this regard from block grant employees and their unions in different areas. After discussing this with the Chief Minister, the Chief Minister has decided on their proposal. According to this decision of the Chief Minister, about 17,500 employees will be benefited.
