BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed condolences after knowing about the death of 5 people in the tragic accident in Saraskana of Mayurbhanj district. Condolences to the family members and declared to provide Rs 2 lakh rupees to the closest relatives of the deceased.
On February 17, a musical troupe was returning to Bagabuda village in the tractor after performing at Damanasahi. Near Dhipasahi, the driver lost control, following which the vehicle skidded off the road and overturned into a roadside farmland, around 15 ft below the road.
While one person died on the spot, around 40 others suffered injuries in the road mishap. Later, four others succumbed to injuries. The deceased included four from Odisha and one from Jharkhand.
