BHUBANESWAR:  Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs two lakh each to the families of two men who were shot dead by robbers during a dacoity attempt in Jajpur district.

Majhi expressed his grief over the incident and also stated that the state government would cover the medical expenses of those injured.

The tragic event occurred when two individuals were killed by miscreants during a robbery attempt at a jewellery shop in the Panikoili area of Jajpur on Saturday. The deceased have been identified as Nilamadhab Panda, a local resident, and Sunil Ray, an employee of the jewellery shop.
