CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday attended the 75th foundation day ceremony of Odisha Public Service Commission and extended warm greetings to the Chairman and Members of OPSC.
CM congratulated the former Chairpersons and Members of the Commission for their significant contribution to the institution.
Chief Secretary PK Jena, OPSC Chairman Dr Satyajit Mohanty, 5T Secretary VK Pandian were among those present.
Mentioning that OPSC is mandated to conduct recruitments for appointments to the services of the State, CM said OPSC’s journey in last 75 years has been remarkable. CM added thousands of men and women selected by OPSC in public admin have made stellar contribution to development.
CM highlighted, in recent years, Odisha Public Service Commission has enabled itself to conduct huge number of recruitment drives faster. CM said the Commission has maintained a high level of transparency by leveraging tech & following best practices in the field of recruitment.
Chief Minister Patnaik complimented OPSC and staff for efforts in clearing backlogs in recruitments and adhering to Annual Recruitment Calendar. CM underscored that Govt has always been keen to strengthen this institution. A new annexe building of OPSC is under construction at cost of ₹14 Crore, CM said.
CM Patnaik added the cadre restructuring of OPSC is under active consideration of the Government. Chief Minister also hoped that the Commission will continue to contribute in building a prosperous and strong Odisha.
