BHUBANESWAR:Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was one of the brave and progressive rulers of India. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was the founder of the Maratha Empire and is known as a great military leader and administrator. He won many battles against the Mughal Empire. He was crowned as “Chhatrapati” (Emperor) in 1674. His courage and philosophy of life continue to inspire us all today. This festival is celebrated to remember the life and contribution of one of the most respected rulers of India. He is known for his excellent administrative skills and military prowess, said the popular Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was known as the greatest warrior king of the Maratha Empire. His contribution in preserving the ancient Indian political traditions and court system is memorable. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti is celebrated every year on February 19. On this occasion, the “Rashtriya Gaurav Yatra” departing from Nashik, Maharashtra to Puri reached the state office today, after which the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and the State President Shri Manmohan Samal paid tributes by garlanding and offering flowers to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji.
Joining the occasion, State President Shri Manmohan Samal said that this yatra is the source of our inspiration. This magnificent yatra will connect the entire country and remind us of unity, integrity, sovereignty. This yatra is welcome. Chhatrapati Shivaji was the emperor of everyone’s hearts. Through this yatra, the youth will be inspired the most and will gain self-confidence and moral courage.
He considered ordinary soldiers extraordinary. He fought fiercely against the Mughals to introduce his legacy to the Hindu empire all over the country and will always be remembered in everyone’s hearts. Today, his yatra will definitely show a new direction to the entire society, said State President Shri Samal.
Today, many state government ministers, MLAs, party state officers and senior leaders, including activists, were present at the state office and paid tributes by placing wreaths and flowers at his statue.
