BHUBANESWAR: Serious cheating and corruption charges levelled against some errant officials of State Bank of India. President of Bhubaneswar Rotary Club Eco and Managing director of R.D. Commercial Private Limited Ram Krishna Dash filed a complaint pertaining to this allegation at Odisha Police authorities. Basing on the documentary proofs and complaints filed by Shri Dash a FIR has been registered in local Khandagiri police station. The FIR No. 517/2021 has been registered in the police station on 4th October 2021 applying the serious sections like 34, 120 (B), 167, 294,383,407, 409, 418, 419, 420, 425, 476,478,503 and 507 0f Indian Penal Code.

As per the allegation made in the FIR some dishonest officials of SBI currently serving in Madhupatna, Gandarpur and in few other branches in Cuttack city in connivance with few land mafias have illegally attempted to grab the properties of SBI’s long standing customer Ram Krishna Dash. The miscreants were planning to sell off in a platter the valuable properties mortgaged by Shri Dash to the Bank against the sanction of loan in his favour. Getting inkling about the evil design of officials, Shri Dash first approached the Debt Recovery Tribunal through petition No S.A. 104/21 and then Odisha High Court through writ petition No. 30664/21.

Shri Dash had availed a loan from the Gandarpur Branch of SBI in the year 2004 mortgaging his properties in Rourkela and Bhubaneswar. As a law abiding citizen, shri Dash  has been paying back his interest and also agreed to pay back the one time settlement (OTS) amount fixed by the Bank. He even paid the first instalment of the OTS amounting Rs. 18 lacs 25 thousand. While Shri Dash was fully co – operating with the Bank, as a matter of shock suddenly on 25th August 2021, some higher authorities of SBI attempted to auction his Building and land located in Barmunda area in Bhubaneswar. A disheartened and desperate Shri Dash then sought the rescue of high court for relief.

The foul act of auctioning the properties of the Guarantor without giving mandatory prior notice to him and acquisition of Collector’s permission to sell and capture the place providing false affidavit and violating the section 14 of Sarfaesi Act 2003 speaks volumes about the malafied motives of Bank authorities. It may be worth mentioned that Shri Dash had already got a stay from the civil court of Aska over the questioned properties vide C.I.S.No. I.A.03 of 2020.

The general public and common customers are strongly disapproving this kind of Barbaric attitude of Bank officials. Particularly when the Economy of whole world has been disseminated to shambles because of the catastrophe created by Covid – 19, instead of showing humanness and sympathy to young an entrepreneur and worthy customer like Shri Dash, this kind of rough treatment and harassment shown by highly prestigious Nationalised Bank like SBI is thoroughly deplorable, observed the President of Odisha Branch of National Bank Watch Krushna Chandra Aich.
