Charan Hembram, Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Sarat Kumar Patra and Seemanchal Patra selected for the Padma Shri award

BHUBANESWAR: The Modi government has given national recognition to extraordinary talents from the grassroots level by nominating them for the prestigious ‘Padma Awards’, Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said in ‘X’. On this occasion, Shri Pradhan expressed his heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees.

Shri Pradhan thanked the Honorable President Smt. Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for continuously introducing the dignity and talent of Odisha to the world. Shri said that the people of Odisha have always been getting due respect under the Modi government. It has been a tradition of our government to bring the grassroots ‘Vanamalli’ to the public eye through the ‘Padma Awards’. Our government is making continuous efforts to bring the ‘Vanamalli’ to the public eye through the Padma Awards. This year, it is a matter of pride and honor that Shri Charan Hembram, Shri Mahendra Kumar Mishra and Shri Sarat Kumar Patra and Shri Seemanchal Patra have been selected for the Padma Shri Award from Odisha in the fields of literature and education and Shri Sharad Kumar Patra and Shri Seemanchal Patra in the fields of art.

Shri Pradhan said that this recognition of the extraordinary work of these ordinary citizens in enriching the nation is a great honour. He expressed the hope that this award will be a source of inspiration for the coming generation.
