NEW DELHI:Somnath Swabhiman Parv is being celebrated on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the first attack on the Somnath temple. In this context, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held discussions with the party leadership, mandal presidents, officials and workers through video conferencing.
Shri Pradhan said that ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv’ is being celebrated on the occasion of 1000th anniversary of the first attack on Somnath Temple in 1026. Somnath Swabhiman Parv showcases the indomitable courage and resilience of Indian civilization. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Somnath in Gujarat for two days from tomorrow and participate in the ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv’. The Prime Minister will participate in the Omkar Mantra chanting program at Somnath Temple. This visit of the Prime Minister demonstrates his commitment to preserve and enrich India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
In this context, all the party workers will visit the nearby Shiva temples in all the Shaivitees of Odisha, offer prayers and light lamps. Shri Pradhan suggested to disseminate the written address of Hon’ble Prime Minister Modi on the history of Baba Somnath Temple. Similarly, he suggested to make a collective effort to get rid of Macaulay’s slavery mentality in the National Education Policy.
