BHUBANESWAR:   With Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to hit the campaign trail in Odisha’s costal pockets of Kendrapara, Balasore and tribal dominated Mayurbhanj on Wednesday in the last of elections , on Tuesday, the Naveen Patnaik Government in Odisha, received yet another shock after the Election Commission of India  suspended Odisha CM’s Special Secretary DS Kuttey and directed  Medical Test of IG (CM Security) Ashish Singh at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar for their dubious role during the general elections in the State.

Both Special Secretary Kuttey, an IPS officer of 1997 and IG (CM Security) , Singh, an IPS officer of 2020 were allegedly influencing election duty officials and ECI taken action against them following a report from Odisha CEO NB Dhal.

‘I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to state that the CEO Odisha in his communication dated 27-05-2024, has made certain averments indicating undue influence being exercised by DS Kuttey , Special Secretary, CMO Odisha, and Ashish Kumar Singh , IG CM Security, on officers directly connected with conduct of election work. This was further corroborated by various other inputs received from the fieild from time to time, ECI  wrote to Odisha CEO.
