KORAPUT/BHUBANESWAR: On Friday, operations party of COB Govindpalli led by Inspector Mohan Lal Saini Offg Coy Cdr while carrying out aggressive ops (SADO) when reached in Kusumput forest area saw something suspicious (IED). He reported the matter to Sh Ajay Kumar Comdt 151 Bn BSF.
After briefing the Coy Cdr, Comdt took a party of one officer and 16 others alongwith SHQ Koraput BD team immediately rushed to the POO at about 1030 hrs. As per direction from Tac HQ Coy Cdr secure the area and carried out intensive search. Comdt on reaching the POO took stock of the situation and directed BD team to take necessary action as per procedure. BD team searched this area and found one IED in a two litres steel container under a stone and found a bunch of wire under another stone approx 5 mtrs away from first place.
At about 1330 hrs BD team destroyed the IED in situ after taking due precautions, no damages to government property or injury to any person. Distance from village Bahadurguda 1.5 kms. Distance from COB 7.2 kms.ops called off after demolition of IED by SHQ koraput BDTeam. It seems that this IED was placed by the naxals on the route to target security forces parties during area domination. More details being ascertained, detail report follows. Regards.
