KORAPUT/BHUBANESWAR: Dhaneshwar Kr Sharma, IG, Frontier BSF Odisha, along with Madan Lal, DIG, Sector Koraput BSF and Antaryami Kumar, Commandant 155 Bn BSF visited COB Porhapadar, in Narayanapatna Block of Koraput district. Commandant briefed about the present security scenario and operational preparedness of his unit.The IG took stock of the prevailing Left Wing Extreme situation and response of security forces to the menace.
The main focus was on the strategic and tactical deployment of the forces in the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh bordering areas and development in far flung areas.Further, under august presence of Inspector General, a Civic Action Programme, Health Camp and Dog Show were organized by 155 Bn in BSF Camp at Porhapadar where villagers of Majhiamba, Borigunda, Bachanaput and Porhapadar were distributed Clothing items, Stationeries, Utensil items and done health checkup to approx 250 villagers and students. The programme was organized in keeping with an aim to connect with the marginalized section of society.
While interacting with Media, IG Dhaneshwar kr sharma BSF stated that , “Our endeavour here in LWE affected area is to bring the misguided youths back in mainstream of society.
He also stated that local youths who have completed their education of desirable level will be provided with proper guidance about their career in BSF and other Central forces Sharma also said BSF offensive against the LWE outfits would be intensified and simultaneously in addition to the operational activities to check Naxal/anti-social activities,
BSF will keep conducting welfare activities such as Public outreach program, Tribal Youth Exchange program, medical camps, sports activities etc. Which would certainly go a long way in consolidating this strong relationship between local people and BSF, such programme addresses the instant necessary requirement of local populace and also provides an opportunity to have interact on common platforms.”
Among Others, Dr. Biswajit Das,CHC Narayanpatna, Sh. Sandip Kr Mohanty, BM SBI Narayanpatna alongwith Field Officer Chhatrapal and students of Bachanaput Primary School and faculty joined the event and appreciated the programme of BSF. During the event a cultural programme “Folk Koi Dance” was organized by school girls to display local culture and traditions.
