KORAPUT/BHUBANESWAR: Frontier BSF Odisha IG Satish Chandra Budakoti accompanied by DIG (Ops) Dhirendra Kumar and Commandant 151 Battalion Ajay Kumar visited BSF Camps at Dandabadi and Ramagiri under Boipariguda in foot hills of Tulasi RF along Odisha and Chhattisgarh border area and interacted with the Commanders and troops of BSF.
The IG held conference at BSF headquarters of 151 Battalion and took stock of the security scenario of Tulasi RF area. He assessed the security framework and working style of the force in the area.Ajay Kumar, Commandant, apprised the officers about security scenario of the area and briefed about confidence built up in the minds and hearts of people. The IG appreciated the high standards of professionalism, devotion to duty and complimented proactive approach of the troops in undertaking humanitarian assistance to the locals.
The IG asked the unit to establish more sports club in far flung villages to motivate and encourage the youth. Budakoti also assessed the security scenario on Odisha-Chhattisgarh-Andhra border during visit to Company Operating Bases (COBs) in Malkangiri district.
He visited COB Podia, COB MV-72, COB Bodigetta & COB MV-88 in Bejjangiwara Reserve Forest, Silakota Reservr Forest and Udaigiri Reserve Forest areas.
The IG while assessing the security framework, operational capability, area domination strategy asked the BSF personnel to give equal emphasis on humane approach towards civil population. He also interacted with the commanders and troops of COBs. He appreciated the tremendous efforts made by troops in maintaining round the clock domination despite harsh and inhospitable terrain.
Narendra Singh, Commandant apprised him about present security scenario, increased economic activities and ongoing development works due to the domination by the troops.
The IG further emphasized on reaching out to far flung villages to cover security vacuum, to distribute items out of Civic Action Programme (CAP) fund and organise sports matches/tournaments and assist youths by creating sports club and providing sports items. He also appreciated the distribution of school items to students.
