BSF ADG Reviews Anti-Maoists Operations in Odisha

KORAPUT/BHUBANESWAR: Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, IPS, ADG BSF Command Headquarter (Anti Naxal Operations) accompanied by Sh Satish Chandra Budakoti, IG BSF Odisha Frontier visited BSF Sector Headquarter in Koraput on Wednesday.

The ADG was updated of existing security setup and operational preparedness in the area where BSF is positioned. He interacted with Madan Lal, DIG BSF Koraput, S K Sinha, DIG BSF Malkangiri, Varun Guntapalli, SP Koraput, and senior Officers of BSF and Border Men in BSF Sector Headquarter Koraput and cherished their efforts in holding Red rebels. Sh Rajwinder Singh applauded the force for it’s dominance and role of security support for the parties those are involved developmental work in the interior pockets of Koraput.

 The officers assessed of the current Left Wing Extremism framework, incidents and reciprocation by the security forces to the threat. He discoursed about the deliberate deployment in bordering areas with Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.

Further, he arrived at recently established BSF Camp at Jantri in Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri, there; senior officers of BSF welcomed him. Sh Rajwinder congratulated the troops for occupying the camp at Jantri, which was the former bastion of red rebels. The officers had thought on the hitches faced by the security forces in maintaining communication and logistics lines.

The ADG quoted, The COB at Jantri assumes massive strategic importance as the Maoists of the outlawed outfit were having their influence in Northern Swabhiman Anchal. During the visit, he had an interaction with local populace of the Jantri pocket and assured them of support at all times and quoted that BSF takes it as privilege to be part of such ventures by giving security support.  After that the he along with Sh Satish Chandra Budakoti IG left for Frontier Headquarter BSF Bhubaneswar.
