BSF ADG Ashish Gupta visited BSF deployed area of Koraput- Malkangiri

KORAPUT: BSF ADG Ashish Gupta visited BSF deployed area of Koraput and Malkangiri districts from 30th July to 01 Aug 2022 to assess the security scenario and operational preparedness of force against the naxal in coming days.

Satish Chandra Budakoti, IG BSF, Sh B B Gusain, DIG (G) BSF, Ftr HQ (Spl-Ops) Odisha and senior officers of BSF accompanied ADG throughout the visit.

Ashish Gupta, ADG was received at Malkangiri by I H Khan Commandent/Offg DIG, Sector Malkangiri and Manoj Karki, Commandent 2 Bn BSF. ADG, IG BSF and other senior officers visited COB Kartanpalli along with Odisha-Chhattisgarh Border.

ADG interacted with troops and briefed them to keep cordial relation with local population. He also told troops to know about presence of naxal in the area of deployment for effective operations. After that Ashish Gupta, ADG left for Swabhimaan Anchal. At COB Vantalguda he took Sainik Sammelan and praised the troops for establishing COBs in inaccessible and sensitive areas of Swabhimaan Anchal, once a Maoist   stronghold. He also interacted with civilians and distributed sweets to local children.Next day ADG along with Sh Satish Chandra Budakoti,  IG Ftr (Spl Ops) BSF, Odisha,  visited COB Dyke-III and interacted with troops and appreciated for their effective domination and changing the dynamics of the area.

He also experienced vastness of Balimela Reservoir with BSF boat Patrolling. IG BSF apprised him about the importance of Balimela Reservoir and its strategic value. He also briefed ADG about the past, when Maoist were having strong hold over the reservoir but due to effective domination by BSF, the scenario has completely changed. After that Sh Ashish Gupta, ADG took an arial reecee of Bejjangewarha Reserve Forest area to assess the naxal situation in southernmost part of State and tri-junction of Odisha-Chhattisgarh-Andhra Pradesh.

Ashish Gupta, ADG appreciated the high standards of professionalism and devotion of duty of field commanders and troops. He praised troops for regaining control of the Cut-off Area by crushing activities of naxal. He complimented for proactive approach of BSF in undertaking humanitarian assistance to locals. His three days visit ended with plantation drive in which 3000 saplings were planted  at Sector Koraput.
