    : In a significant development on Wednesday, a breach of privilege notice moved against Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of State (Home) by senior Congress MLA from Balangir, Narasingha Mishra, demanding action against Patanik and Behera.

    BHUBANESWAR:  In a significant development on Wednesday, a breach of privilege notice  moved against Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of State (Home) by senior Congress MLA from Balangir, Narasingha Mishra, demanding action against Patanik and Behera.

    The CM Patnaik through the MoS (Home) Behera, has intentionally misled the House to escape from the criticism of the Opposition, Congress veteran Mishra said in the letter to the Secretary of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

    “It is a clear case of breach of privilege of the House. The CM and the MoS have committed breach of privilege for which they are liable to be punished,’ Mishra argued..

    Mishra said the Minister of State (MoS) representing the CM stated in the Assembly that following the precedents of Lakhimpur Kheri incident in Uttar Pradesh and the order passed by the Supreme Court of India, in the case of murder of former minister Naba Das, retired judge Justice JP Das has been nominated by the High Court to monitor the investigation of the case.
