BHUBANESWAR:In order to create awareness and promote cleanliness, Government of India is observing ‘Swachhta Pakhwada” from 1st July to 15th July throughout the nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication & commitment towards “Swachh Bharat” has made people conscious and made them aware towards the responsibility as well as the contribution they can give to make our society clean . On this occasion a cleaning activity is being organised today by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd under “Swachhata Pakhwada at Singha Dwara Lingaraj Temple, Bhubaneswar.
BPCL takes the challenge for a cleanliness drive in the vicinity of Lingaraj Temple, Bhubaneswar. Nearly two and half hours cleanliness drive was led by Debashis Palit , State Head (Retail) –Odisha & Jharkhand, BPCL along with other senior officials from Oil Industry joined and actively participated in the drive with full enthusiasm. Renowned social worker Samir Mohanty , Babu Singh and Harekrushna Khuntia also participated in the activity & appreciated BPCL for this noble cause.
The dealers and distributors of Oil Industry, around 200 volunteers from Bhubaneswar Local also participated in this drive. Addressing the participants, Mr. Debashis Palit emphasized on the need for a litter free environment. He also said that while such exercises will be continued, it is the responsibility of all to keep our premises neat and clean thereby, ensuring zero tolerance to litter. He also enthused the public with the inspiring words, Swachhta should not remain restricted as a time specific event but should be ingrained in our habit and living.
