BHUBANESWAR: The Chandrasekharpur Police in Odisha Capital of Bhubaneswar, on Monday started searching for boyfriend Soumyajeet Mohapatra, who hails from Sambalpur over the suicide death of Infosys Software Engineer Sweta Utkal Kumari, who hails from Bhadrak.
Soumyajeet, who works with a private company in the city, will be questioned by police soon. The software engineer Sweta Utkal Kumari after completing her B Tech from ITER, was working as a Technology Analyst with Infosys here.
Sweta’s brother in an FIR filed at , Chandrasekharpur police alleged that she was tortured by her boyfriend Soumyajeet Mohapatra while his family members were demanding Rs 30 lakh for their marriage.
Chandrasekharpur police have registered a case in this connection under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC and started investigation.
Sweta was found hanging inside her apartment in Sailashree Vihar area here, on Sunday. Police have reportedly seized a diary from the house, in which it has been mentioned that she was in a relationship with Soumyajeet.
