BHUBANESWAR: The BJP has formed a single-party government in Odisha not by accident but due to the sacrifices and hard work of the people and the workers, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while releasing the English book “Voice and Votes: Odisha Electoral Renaissance of – 2024” written by eminent writers and professors Dr. Netaji Abhinandan and Preet Bhubaneswar in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
On the auspicious occasion of the launch of this analytical book on contemporary Odisha politics, Shri Pradhan has extended his best wishes and congratulations to its author and publisher. He said that by giving the form of a book to the history and the present, it becomes easier to move towards the future. A few days ago, I had the privilege of launching the book “Nirbachan 2024 – Odisha Rajtchar Kad Leutani” written by Chaudhuri Amitabh Das. The launch of such an analytical book today is welcome to know about the politics of Odisha. He hoped that this book would be appreciated by all sections and expressed his interest in publishing it in Odia language as well.
The Union Minister highlighted the political journey of BJP in Odisha and globally. Shri Pradhan expressed his views on the political development of BJP in Odisha, the involvement of workers from minority to majority, BJP’s success in the 2017 Panchayat elections, its emergence as an opposition party and BJP forming a single government in the last elections.
He said that Bharatiya Jana Sangh or Bharatiya Janata Party is not just an organization but an ideology. BJP has emerged as the largest party in the world not as an accidental party, but with the sacrifice and dedication of many workers, and has formed a unified government in Odisha for the first time with the blessings of the people. ‘Odiya Asmita’ is not a political issue but a cultural, economic aspiration, a concept to reflect and build a civilization and to secure the future. In a democracy, everyone has their own perspective and approach, this cannot be denied. So BJP has not become the government in the state accidentally but only after continuous efforts because it has become the trust of the people of Odisha.
When we talk about the New Age Economy and the global situation, semiconductors have become a big issue in the world. Happily, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet has approved the establishment of 2 semiconductor manufacturing units in Odisha. The construction of a 6-lane controlled greenfield Capital Region Ring Road project in the state has also been approved. On the other hand, yesterday, the Chief Minister of the state announced that steps will be taken to regularize schematic primary teachers as per the National Education Policy 2020. Our commitment was to ensure that teachers get a dignified life, which the current BJP government is fulfilling. The Union Education Minister opined that the double engine government is fulfilling the aspirations and expectations of people in various fields, be it education or development.
The book launch event was attended by prominent guests including the author of the book, senior journalists Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Rajaram Satapathy, eminent writer Professor Biswaranjan, and publisher Subhranshu Panda.
