BHUBANESWAR: March 6, 2020, will be remembered. It was not because a like any other day. It was the day, when for the first time, since its formation , BJD saw party banners without photos of legendary Biju Babu and Party boss and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The occasion was felicitation of new Organisational Secretary Bobby Das alias Pranab Prakash but those who were at the meeting, found themselves in surprise as no sign of Biju and Naveen in the banner only one Photo that it was Bobby.
BJD has not such post earlier, it was created online of BJP but why Naveen opted Bobby, a 3 times MLAs and having less political experience. Sources said, Bobby’s rise within the BJD has not gone with well several veterans.
Planning Board Deputy chairman Sanjay Dasburma, BCJD State president Rana Pratap Patra, Biju Yuva Janata Dal State president Amaresh Patri, MLA Pranab Balabantray, BCJD advisor Chinmaya Sahoo, Ranjit Mohapatra and MLA Debi Prasad Tripathy and others were among those seated with Jajpur MLA Bobby on dais.
Will Arun Sahoo , Atanu Nayak, Sanjay Dasburma, Pratap Deb, Soumiya Patnaik, Raja Swain tolerate Bobby’s rise within the BJD? This is now a billion dollar question for Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. With Bobby, taking the baton of Party Organisation, VK Pandian looking into State’s administration, Naveen Patnaik seems buying more time to bid adieu to politics in near future, sources added.
