BMC’s emphasis on sanitation and environment

BHUBANESWAR:Today, Commissioner Shri Chanchal Rana visited various areas under Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) No. 61. After assessing the situation and discussing with the local residents, he highlighted the importance of waste management and segregation. Shri Rana said that the current environmental situation is the responsibility of everyone. He called upon everyone to cooperate in environmental initiatives like beautification of the vacant spaces of the ward, planting trees, etc.

On this occasion, the Commissioner planted trees in the courtyard of the Bhimeshwar Dev temple in ward 61. Among the trees are four types of Tulsi, Bel, Sameer, Ashoka, Mango. The trees are environmentally friendly, have religious and health significance. Accordingly, Commissioner Shri Rana visited various places in ward no. 45. He asked to plan how the space near the workers’ waiting hall near the idea can be used as a playground for children. After this, he asked to take steps to renovate the Badgarh Hat area in a planned manner and to keep the surroundings of the community center clean.
Among others, local corporator Shri Ameresh Jena, Shri Shiv Narayan Roy, Additional Commissioner Shri Kailash Chandra Das, Deputy Commissioner, Parimal Shri N. Ganesh Babu, Executive Engineer Shri Taras Marandi, sanitation team, engineering team and local leaders were present.
