BHUBANESWAR: Citing Puja season, BMC on Saturday decided to open all closed down shops and commercial establishments and for which, it too, withdrew its order for BJP Bhubaneswar MP and National spokesperson, Aparajita Sarangi’s office located at Palaspalli under Airfield Police Limits of State Capital.
The BMC also asked the office head to make the premise available for sanitization immediately upon de-sealing. The office head has also been directed to ensure adherence to all COVID-19 guidelines, including social distancing, mask-wearing and frequent hand washing by all concerned.
“In pursuance of decision taken by the BMC to open all closed down shops, commercial establishments and institutions in view of the ensuing Puja celebration, the sealing order for the MP’s office at Palaspalli under Airfield police limits is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect,” the BMC said,
On October 10, the BMC had sealed the MP’s office after a video that showed the Parliamentarian celebrating her birthday violating COVID-19 guidelines went viral. BMC had announced to seal it for 15 days but with fresh decision taken, the order was withdrawn with immediate effect. BMC action had drawn flake from many with BJP and Congress alleged that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik adopting doble yardstick in dealing with COVID-19 guidelines.
