BHUBANESWAR:The Baramunda-Jagmara new road dazzled with dance, songs. The audience was enthralled by the second road festival organized by the Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation (BMC). The entertainment spread over a kilometer. Bhubaneswar was completely covered by severe cold and fog since morning. The box sound of the road festival organized by the BMC roared from 5:30 in the morning. The louder the box sound, the more the crowd of spectators gathered. By 6 am, the Baramunda-Jagmara new road was crowded. The Baramunda-Jagmara new road was dazzled by the second road festival organized by the BMC. Thousands of people were entertained. More than 30 thousand people enjoyed the program.
Hon’ble Bhubaneswar MP Smt. Aparajita Sandhangi was the chief guest in today’s program. Among others, Hon’ble Ekamra MLA Shri Babu Singh, Central MLA Shri Anant Narayan Jena, Hon’ble Mayor Smt. Sulochana Das, Deputy Mayor Smt. Manjulata Kahur, BMC Commissioner Shri Chanchal Rana, Chairman of Cultural Standing Committee Shri Ramachandra Ransingh, Chairman of all Standing Committees, Chairpersons, and many corporates were present on the stage. The guests of this second Path festival of 2025-26 started the program by watering the trees placed on the stage and giving the message of green Bhubaneswar. After the speeches of the guests, the cultural program of the second Path festival began. As soon as the playback singer appeared on the stage, the audience was in a state of awe.
The guests expressed that to make Bhubaneswar beautiful and attractive, we have to be clean, green and conscious. The air is getting polluted day by day. Therefore, the guests present called upon the people of Bhubaneswar to be conscious. Today’s people are immersed in work and are moving away from entertainment.
Due to the pressure of work, various diseases are being contracted. In order to take some time out of that busy life and provide food for entertainment, the Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation Authority has been organizing such road festivals in three zones, said the Honorable Mayor.
This winter, the first Path Utsav was held at Master Canteen and more colorful and new games and cultural programs were added. This time, more games were arranged especially for small children. The face painting stalls located at various places were as crowded as the drawing stalls. Many children sat in rows to draw. The entire street was colored with the help of various women self-help groups.
To bring the hidden talent of Bhubaneswar to the public eye, the people of Bhubaneswar created a buzz on two Bhubaneswar Got Talent stages. Hundreds of children, teenagers, young men, and young women rocked the stage. The sky trembled with the applause of thousands of spectators. Not only that, on the second stage too, the audience was mesmerized by the DJ. Along with traditional dance, songs, and games, the people of Bhubaneswar enjoyed Malkhamba, Yoga, Kids Kingdom, Puzzle Games, Ludu, Tiger Dance, and 360-degree cameras. Various sports were arranged for people of all ages, including cycling and skating.
The 1-kilometer-long road created the illusion of a fair for some time.
On the first stage, the audience danced to the tunes of playback singers Deeptirekha Padhi, Jayashree Dhal and Narayan Dutt. The audience was enthralled by the song “Hadbhanga Jad” by Maghamas. The audience danced to the tunes and became ecstatic.
Apart from this, the audience did not forget to take selfies with the street dance and traditional dance artists. There was a fierce competition among the audience to capture the various scenes happening on and off the stage on their mobile phones. Some were also seen doing live on their own channels.
The vote of thanks was given by the Chairman of the Cultural Standing Committee, Shri Ramachandra Ransingh. The program was coordinated by Additional Commissioner Shri Ratnakar Sahu and Shri Kailash Chandra Das. All the employees of Team BMC performed their duties in a professional manner. With the help of the sanitation workers, the path of the festival was immediately cleaned. The last path of the current season will be held at Infocity from Sunday morning, February 1.
