BHUBANESWAR: In a heartwarming gesture of appreciation, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) organized a feast, “Bada Khana,” for the dedicated Swachhta warriors at TTS near Sainik School, Acharya Vihar. This event, held on the eve of Christmas and the Inauguration of Pathautsav 2023-24, aimed to uplift the spirits of the tireless sanitation workers.
BMC Commissioner, Shri Vijay Amruta Kulange, led by example as he personally served food to the staff and their families. The event witnessed the presence of local corporators Monalisa Sahu, additional commissioner Shri Suryawanshi Mayur Vikash, Shri Subhendu Kumar Sahu, Deputy commissioner Dr. Manoranjan Sahu, Shri Raj Kishor Jena, General Manager Smart City, Shri Purandara Nanda, Assistant Commissioner, Shri N Ganesh Babu, and all zonal deputy commissioners who actively participated in serving the festive meal.
To bring a moment of joy into the hardworking lives of Swachh Karmis, a cultural program was arranged at TTS. The workers, along with their families, enjoyed dance performances and various cultural activities. The highlight of the evening was the Santali Dance performed by Swachh Karmis, captivating the audience, including BMC staff.
Expressing his gratitude, Shri Vijay Amruta Kulange stated, “For those who keep our town clean and safe, it is our duty to bring happiness to their lives. This event is a small token of our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our Swachhta warriors.
The evening concluded with the distribution of prizes to participants, recognizing their talents and contributions. The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of community as everyone came together to celebrate the invaluable efforts of the Swachh workers.
