BARGARH/BHUBANESWAR: Sanat Gadtia of BJP, who had lost to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the last Assembly polls from Bijepur seat in State’s western districts of Bargarh, was Sunday repeated by the party as its candidate for the October 21 by-polls.
The by-polls necessitated after Chief Minister Patnaik, who had won from two seats, kept his traditional Hinjili seat in southern districts of Ganjam and left Beijpur resulting for by -polls.
Earlier, BJD and Congress had named Rita Sahu and Dillip Kumar Panda as party candidates, respectively. With today’s announcement by the BJP, the Bijepur bypoll is all set to witness a triangular contest between the candidates of the three major political parties of the state.
