BHUBANESWAR: BJP State secretary Dr Lekhasri Samantsinghar Wednesday said the ‘killing’ of Jajapur district’s Haridashpur PEO Smitarani Biswal can be unravelled only if the CBI conducts a probe into the incident.
“The Government has allotted over 152 acres of land to the Ramco Cement in four gram panchayats, Dharmasala, Haridashpur, Thanuala and Aruha. The allotted land includes graveyard, gochar, anabadi and devottar patches,” she said.
“Besides, the company has encroached a vast area of land illegally. Main accused in Smitarani killing Rupesh Bhadra’s house is in Haridashpur. To make these encroached lands legal, pressure had allegedly been put on Smitarani. As she didn’t agree, she was gangraped and murdered in a Rangasala,” the BJP leader said.
She demanded that encroachment of land by the Ramco should be investigated along with the Smitarani killing case. Everything can be unearthed and Smitarani can get justice if the CBI conducts an inquiry, said Samansinghar.
