BHUBANESWAR:   The BJP on Wednesday targeted BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik for maintaining studied silence. Speaking to media, BJP State Spokesperson, Dilp Mallick and Media Coordinator Sujit Das,  alleged that it is the usual practice of BJD to silence media organizations and journalists by showing the red eyes of the police. There are undemocratic examples of Biju Janata Dal like attacking and threatening media organizations like OTV, Bada Khabar , Konaka News and their employees. Yesterday, former Information and Broadcasting Minister and senior BJD leader Raghunandan Das scared a working journalist by letting his dog loose in his official residence. This shows his inferiority complex. Such an inhuman act is highly reprehensible.

On the “silent orders” of BJD President and former Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik, media organizations and working journalists have been attacked many times. Yesterday’s inhumane incident also took place on the orders of Naveen Babu. Even after 24 hours of the incident, Naveen Patnaik is sitting quietly, so it is clear that this incident happened on his instructions. He neither condemned the incident nor said anything. Naveen Patnaik opened his mouth about such activities of a senior leader of his party.

BJD leaders are now reacting after losing the elections as if they were bitten by the drug. Many media organizations and working journalists have been attacked during the Naveen government in the past. They even stopped going to the Secretariat and Assembly. He did not shy away from tying a rope and insulting journalists. Naveen Babu and his party leaders still have the mentality and arrogance to insult media and journalists even after losing the election, Mallick said.
