BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: BJP National Vice-President and Spokesperson, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda has welcomed the decision of Odisha Government to extend lockdown till April 30. The former 4th times MP Panda reacted soon after the State Cabinet , chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik decided to extend the lockdown till April 30.
In a video message , the 4th times Parliamentarian from Odisha said the State government has announced that the lockdown will be extended in the state till April 30, and all schools and colleges will remain closed till June 17, which , the BJP will fully co-operate in the implementation of this decision.
“We appeal to the public to follow all government rules and guidelines to fight the coronavirus pandemic by wearing a mask of face covering whenever outside home. Meantime, the union government has taken many steps to assist states as well as citizens with various facilities, e.g. migrant labour. In particular, there are large numbers of migrant labour from Odisha in other states, who are being helped,” the senior BJP leader twitted.
“Apart from the government, the BJP also has a countrywide network for such help. Also, lakhs of BJP Karyakartas are volunteering every day to provide food to crores of underprivileged citizens, as well as making and distributing masks. I also urge the Odisha government to take steps to alleviate the problems faced by citizens due to this extension, particularly since they are unable to go to work and their salaries may be in jeopardy.
