NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: BJP National VP-Spokesperson and 4th times former Parliamentarian, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda was on Tuesday remembered Dr. Ambedkar on his Birth Anniversary and recollected his contribution to Indian Republic.
“On his 129th birth anniversary, I pay homage to a visionary who is responsible for making Indian democracy a success story. I pledge to uphold the values that Dr. Ambedkar stood for: equality, freedom and brotherhood between all Indians.Jai Hind!,”the former MP said.
In a video message posted by the senior BJP leader from Odisha in social media, he said “Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar is regarded as the architect of our Constitution, and rightly so, for he managed to prepare a comprehensive document that has managed to stand the test of time. He played a pivotal role to ensure that ideas like equality between all; freedom for all; and a sense of brotherhood have become integral values in not just the Constitution but even in our society,”.
From the Preamble that binds us all, to the Fundamental Rights and their safeguards under Article 32, to the Directive Principles.Dr. Ambedkar contributed to each aspect of defining our democracy. An ardent advocate of making a strong Nation that is equal on all basis, he proposed a Uniform Civil Code. He also proposed several laws that protect the rights of women and other historically downtrodden groups like SCs and STs, Panda said.
Every enthusiast of law and policy must listen to Dr. Ambedkar’s Constituent Assembly speeches that showcase his progressive and far sighted vision.Starting from a humble background, Dr Ambedkar rose to great heights as a social reformer, jurist, economist and politician. His towering intellect was acknowledged by all. Even among the cohort of freedom fighters that were highly educated from universities abroad, Dr Ambedkar, who did his PhD at the prestigious Columbia University, was 2nd to none, he added.
